Terms of Use

The rules for using Topeka Electricians, a free service that connects people in Topeka, KS and nearby towns with independent electrical contractors.

This website is owned and operated by Joe McGregor. Last updated November 6, 2026.

What this service is

Topeka Electricians is a referral service. It passes your request, or connects your call, to independent electrical contractors that serve your area.

Topeka Electricians is a free quote-referral service, not an electrician or electrical contractor. It holds no electrical license and does not perform electrical work. It is not an electrician or electrical contractor, holds no electrical license, and does not offer to perform electrical work. It does not plan, supervise or inspect electrical work. The word "Electricians" in the site's name describes the contractors you may be connected with, not work the site does.

Free, with no obligation

Requesting quotes is free, and you are never obligated to hire any contractor who contacts you. Contractors may pay Topeka Electricians for each request or call they receive. The site does not rank or endorse contractors, and contractors reply on their own schedules. No response time is promised.

The contractors are independent

Contractors who contact you are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Topeka Electricians. Any agreement for work is between you and the contractor you choose. Each contractor is responsible for its own license, insurance, permits, prices, workmanship and warranties. The site does not verify licenses, insurance or work and cannot promise that any contractor is licensed or insured. Before you hire:

  • Kansas has no statewide electrician license; cities and counties license electricians (K.S.A. 12-1525). In Topeka, ask for the contractor's City of Topeka license and confirm it with Development Services (785-368-3905); the city also posts a licensed-contractor list.
  • Ask for certificates of liability insurance and workers' compensation.
  • Get a written, itemized quote that says who pulls the permit, and don't pay in full upfront.
  • Kansas gives a 3-business-day right to cancel many door-to-door sales of $25 or more (K.S.A. 50-640), but a repair visit you requested can be excluded. Ask, and get it in writing.

Information on this site

Guides, prices and answers on this site are general information. They are not professional electrical, legal or insurance advice. Prices are published third-party ranges and city fees, not quotes. Laws, codes, permit fees and utility rules change; confirm anything important with City of Topeka Development Services, your town or county, a Kansas attorney or your insurance agent. Never attempt electrical work you are not qualified and permitted to do, and never work on a service entrance or meter yourself.

Consent to contact

By sending the form, you agree that Topeka Electricians and the contractors that receive your request may contact you by phone, text or email about it, including by automated means where the law allows. Consent is not a condition of buying anything. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to texts or ask a caller to stop at any time. See the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Please submit only real requests for property you own, rent or manage, with accurate contact details. Do not submit someone else's information without permission, send spam, try to disrupt the site or its form, or copy the site's content for commercial use.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Topeka Electricians and its owner are not liable for the work, prices, advice, conduct, licensing or insurance of any contractor you contact through the site, or for any loss that results from using the site or relying on its information. Your remedies for a contractor's work are with that contractor.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in them limits rights you have under the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.

Changes

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Use the quote form and say it is about the terms, or read about this service.
